Every cook believes she or he has in his or her hands the ideal recipe to prepare the best cheesecake, but at Quescrem we celebrate this year’s World Cheesecake Day (July 30) with the publication of the ebook that explains the ten definitive recipes for a perfect cheesecake.

The choice was not easy, as there are a multitude of ways to prepare and serve an excellent cheesecake, so we consulted our team of in-house culinary technicians, collaborating chefs and professional pastry chefs for weeks to decide.

In the ten recipes of the ebook we have taken into account the latest gastronomic trends, the choices of consumers in bakeries and restaurants, the variety in the elaborations… we know that it will not be easy to choose, so we invite you to prepare it in the ten possible ways to choose your favorite.

This year in Quescrem we wanted to go a step further to praise the products of the land, supporting an initiative of a group of bakers from all over Galicia who have joined together to commemorate the week of cheesecake “Feita en Galicia”.

The participating Quescrem ambassador bakeries are Meraki (Ourense); Habaziro (A Coruña); Martín (Lugo); O Pequeño Lambón (Cangas), and Agarimo (Foz). We invite you to go through them, but also to get your hands in the dough to make the cakes at home.

 

The first Cheesecake

 

The first recipe for cheesecake dates back to ancient Greek times, a dough of cheese, honey and flour served at room temperature. The Romans were the first to add other ingredients, such as eggs, and also to bake it to give it a shape more similar to today’s cheesecake.

It took several centuries before the cheesecake recipe reached the United States and it was there that cream cheese was included for the first time, which we at Quescrem have perfected to find the perfect cheesecake.
